Allegations of water development board (PUBO) land grabbing have been received in Barisal's Agailjhara. A few months ago, they filled the land of Beluhar-Poysarhat embankment in Somairpar of Bagdha Union with sand. Recently, the construction of paved structures has also started there. However, the influential businessman Panchanan Vaidya denied the allegations and claimed that the land was bought by him. All documents are there. However, on December 13, an official of Barisal Pubo said that he was given the information to give notice to remove the establishment.
It was seen on the ground on Tuesday that the construction of paved structures on the newly dumped sand on the slope of the embankment is in progress. The work of the first floor of the multi-storied building under construction on three percent land is nearing completion. There are three rooms. According to local sources, Panchanan Vaidya, a cloth merchant of Poysarhat, started the construction work here six months ago. Before that, fill the low area next to the embankment with sand.
Panchanan Vaidya's house is in Naghirpar village. His family is locally influential. As a result, no one prevented them from occupying that land. According to local residents, Panchanan will build his house on that land. He learned that the following three rooms will be rented out as shops.
Claimant Panchanan Vaidya is the owner of a large part of the surrounding land including the building land. He said, 'I have built a building in my place. It is not the place of water development board. Write what you can. I will do what I can.' Claiming that this is the place he bought, he said that there are documents. But he refused to show it.
