The current cabinet remains in place

Dhaka:

During the next 11th National Parliament election, the current cabinet will remain in office. At the time of elections, this cabinet is not being formed to form an interim government.

Only those who were unelected or in the technocrat branch (not members of the national parliament) were excluded.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said this in the regular meeting of the Cabinet on Monday (06 November). This information is known after talking to several ministers after the meeting.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting held in the Cabinet Room of the Prime Minister's Office.

According to related sources, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said in an unscheduled discussion at the meeting that the Cabinet will remain as it is. There is nothing in the constitution that says that the electoral government or the new council of ministers should be shortened. Last time we did it to keep all parties (who had representatives in Parliament).

However, the Prime Minister said that the technocrat ministers who are currently in the cabinet will not remain. At that time, he ordered the four technocrat ministers in the current cabinet to submit their resignations.

Sheikh Hasina said that while canceling the caretaker government, the High Court's verdict said that no one who is not elected can be in the cabinet of the government after the announcement of the schedule during the election. So the non-elect cannot stay due to legal obligation.

The four technocrat ministers in the current cabinet are - Science and Technology Minister Architect Yafes Osman, Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Affairs Minister Nurul Islam BSc, Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar and Religion Minister Principal Matiur Rahman.

Sources also say that in the meeting, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ordered the ministers not to take advantage of any kind of government privileges and to strictly abide by the law after announcing the election schedule. The Prime Minister said that after the announcement of the election schedule, no minister can take advantage of any government privilege. You must strictly follow this law.

According to several sources who participated in the meeting, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, "I have discussed with everyone." The discussion is at the end. There will be no further talks after November 7. Now shall we discuss throughout the year.
