Out of 5 clinics in Nandigram, 3 have been declared closed due to lack of valid documents. 5 clinics in Nandigram Upazila Sadar have been running since past days. The clinics are Fatima Clinic and Diagnostic Center, Rokeya General Hospital, Health Care Clinic and Diagnostic Center, Islam Life Care Hospital and Diagnostic Center, New Model Clinic and Diagnostic Center, three declared illegal for lack of valid documents and they are Health Kier Clinic and Diagnostic Center, Rokeya General Hospital, Islam Life Care Hospital and Diagnostic Center, Islam Life Care Hospital authorities have closed the hospital on their own application. The closed clinics have been raking in lakhs of rupees by providing illegal treatment for a long time despite not having valid documents. Workers were sent from village to village to bring the patient and gave medical treatment in the name of treatment. Due to these reasons, there have been reports of patient deaths in closed clinics. Many have complained that government medicine is administered secretly in these clinics. Their commission agents are spread from village to village, the job of these agents is to lure the simple people of the village and bring them to these clinics. After that, the clinic owners handed over huge bills to the patient's relatives for operation and treatment with low quality medicine. Many people also complained that in some of those clinics, instead of the doctor, the owner himself does complex work like operations. Besides, unlicensed clinics are being run with the help of an influential group. Going to the health care clinic and diagnostic center, it can be seen that the main gate is locked, but there is no activity inside the clinic, there is a large movement of patients. Talking to the owner of Health Care Clinic and Diagnostic Center, Masud, he said that the clinic is open due to the color work going on inside the clinic. He also said that I am doing color work inside the clinic along with Upazila Health Family Planning Officer Dr. Tofazzal Hossain. In this regard, Upazila Health Family Planning Officer Dr. Tofazzal Hossain said that three clinics have been closed due to lack of valid documents. However, if there is evidence of providing medical services in the closed clinics, then legal action will be taken through the mobile court.
