Milladunnabi procession in Chittagong led by Taher Shah

 

Mohammad Sheikh Sadi, Chittagong: The procession in celebration of Eid-e-Miladunnabi began at 9:50 am on Tuesday from Sholashar in Chittagong city under the leadership of Allama Syed Muhammad Taher Shah Maddazilluhul Ali. At that time, officials of Anjuman-e-Rahmania Ahmadiyya Sunnia Trust and Allama Taher Shah's two sons, Kashem Shah and Hamid Shah, were also present in the procession.

 

Earlier in the morning, thousands of people from Chittagong and surrounding districts joined the procession in various vehicles including buses, trucks, minibuses, micros. Lakhs of people from different parts of the country participated in the procession.

Former Jamia student Rahmat Ullah has come to participate in the procession.

 

He said, "Everyone in our batch has come to participate in the procession wearing the same color Punjabi and turban. This is like our reunion. No matter where we are scattered in our work life, in the country or abroad, we come together in the Milad-un-Nabi procession. This is the address of our lives." Abdul Hannan, an old man from Patia, who came to participate in the procession, said, "I have been waiting every year to come to this procession since independence. This day is like the joy of Eid for me." Abdul Quader came from Rangamati. He said, "I heard that the Prophet will come in the children of Awlad. That's why I came to see him. I have never seen so many people before."

Officials of Anjumane Rahmania Ahmadiyya Sunniya Trust said that the procession started at 9:50 am under the leadership of Allama Taher Shah. It passed through Bibirhat Muradpur, Katalganj, Chawkbazar, Chandanpura, Sirajudaula Road, Andarkilla, Momin Road, Jamalkhan, Ganibekari and then again through Chawkbazar, Katalganj, Muradpur and ended at Jamia Ahmadiyya Sunniya Aliya Madrasa ground after a rally, discussion meeting and Zohr prayers.
