The senior assistant secretary was sacked for writing 'ugly' poetry

Senior Assistant Secretary Md wrote a poem in ugly language referring to the Prime Minister under a pseudonym on Facebook. Saidur Rahman has been fired.

The former Deputy Director of the National River Protection Commission was now an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Ministry of Public Administration.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification dismissing him from his job due to misconduct in that incident.

The notification issued on June 13 said that he was given this capital punishment as the allegations of misconduct were proved.

Saidur Rahman published an ugly, indecent and offensive poem on October 8, 2020 at 7:46 pm from his Facebook ID 'Rahman Henry' under the pseudonym 'Rahman Henry'. Which on the one hand is rude and unprofessional behavior for a government employee. A departmental case was filed against him on charges of misconduct as per Government Servants (Disciplinary and Appeals) Rules as this tarnished the image of the administration.

Later he was summoned to apologize and asked whether he wanted a personal hearing or not. As his written reply and personal hearing statements were not considered satisfactory, officers were appointed to investigate. After the investigation, the investigation officer opined that the allegations have been proved beyond doubt.

He was initially dismissed from service as per the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules. He was also issued a second show cause notice.

Referring to issue of show cause notice for the second time, it is said that the reply to the notice was not considered satisfactory and the investigation proved beyond doubt that despite being a public servant, he had published a poem in abusive language referring to the Head of Government. He was sacked after due process.
