The International Youth Day was celebrated with colorful arrangements in Kamalnagar, Laxmipur under the slogan 'Self-reliant youth power, the foundation of sustainable development'. On the occasion of the day, the Upazila Youth Development Department organized a colorful rally and discussion meeting on Tuesday (November 1) afternoon. The rally started from in front of the Upazila Parishad and circled various roads before meeting at the Upazila Parishad auditorium for a discussion meeting.
The discussion meeting was chaired by Upazila Executive Officer Mohammad Masudur Rahman and Upazila Parishad Chairman Advocate Syed Md. Shamsul Alam was the chief guest and Upazila Vice Chairman Maulana Humayun Kabir was the special guest.
Moderated by Upazila Youth Development Officer Monir Hossain, the speakers included Upazila Agriculture Officer Golam Faruk Bhuiyan, Upazila Livestock Officer Md. Akhtaruzzaman, Upazila NGO Council Coordinator Journalist Yusuf Ali Mithu, and NGO Proyas Executive Director Md. Anwar Hossain, among others.
At this time, a seven-day training course on poultry farming was inaugurated and a loan of one lakh 70 thousand taka was distributed among three youth workers with the aim of becoming self-reliant.
