Police have arrested a young man named Enayet Hossain (26) for posting a picture of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Facebook in Kamalnagar, Lakshmipur. He was sent to court on Tuesday, May 29 at noon. Earlier, at 10 am, Monir Hossain filed a case under Section 57 of the Information Technology Act at Kamalnagar Police Station.
He was arrested from Fajumiya's Hat Bazar on Monday night. Enayet is the son of Safiulya of Char Pagla village. Plaintiff Monir is the son of Anisul Haque of Char Thika village. Both of them are residents of Ward No. 3 of Char Kadira Union.
It is learnt that Enayet Hossain created a fake Facebook ID in the name of Monir Hossain and posted a picture of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Facebook, insulting her. Monir filed a case against him under the Information Technology Act as the plaintiff.
Kamalnagar Police Station Deputy Inspector Md. Zahir Uddin said that the Prime Minister's picture was insulting and circulated on Facebook. Monir filed a case under the Information Technology Act. Kamalnagar Police Station Case No. 13.
