Youth gets 6 months in jail for harassing JSC examinee in Kamalnagar

A mobile court has sentenced a young man named Suman to six months in jail for harassing a JSC examinee in Kamalnagar, Lakshmipur district. Executive Magistrate and Kamalnagar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Masudur Rahman Mollah delivered the verdict at 5 pm on Thursday (today).

The convicted Md. Sumon (18) is the son of Md. Mostafa of Char Martin area of the upazila.

Earlier in the morning, police arrested him from the Torabganj High School JSC examination center area in the upazila.

Kamalnagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Akul Chandra Biswas said that Sumon, a scoundrel, has been harassing an eighth-grade student of Torabganj High School in the upazila for a long time. On Thursday morning, when the student was going to the JSC examination center of Torabganj High School, he harassed her again. At that time, locals detained him and informed the police station, and the police went and brought him to the police station. When he was produced in a mobile court, the mobile court sentenced Sumon to 6 months in jail.
