Criticizing the former government after becoming the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak said, "The previous government did some mistakes and because of those mistakes, the country is currently facing a deep economic crisis." Rishi met King Charles III at Buckingham Palace in London on Tuesday. After a brief meeting, King Charles officially declared Sunak Prime Minister of Britain and called for a new cabinet.
Later, Rishi Sunak went to Prime Minister's office number 10 Downing Street and stood in front of it and gave a short speech to the nation. At the beginning of the speech, he paid respect to former Prime Minister Liz Truss and said, 'You all know why and under what circumstances I became your new Prime Minister. Right now our country is going through a deep economic crisis. Besides, we still have to pull because of the corona epidemic.'
Criticizing the government led by his predecessor, Prime Minister Liz Truss, he said, 'We made some mistakes. These mistakes were not intentional and it is not uncommon to make mistakes while working. But still we will say, we had some mistakes. We have to get down to business very quickly. Because the longer the delay, the more serious the crisis will be. Now it's time to correct the mistakes.'
Regarding another predecessor Boris Johnson, Rishi Sunak said, 'I have always respected Boris Johnson. His achievements as the Prime Minister of the country are unique and he has always been a friendly person with a warm heart.'
