Kamalnagar freedom fighter Shahajan Chowdhury was buried with state honor

Freedom fighter Haji Shahajan Chowdhury was laid to rest with state honours in Kamalnagar, Laxmipur. (Today) on Thursday at 10 am, the funeral was held at the Upazila Parishad ground. At that time, a guard of honour was provided by the Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh Police. Upazila Executive Officer Mohammad Masudur Rahman Molla, army, police and other dignitaries of the area were present at his funeral prayer. He died of a heart attack at Dhaka Medical College at 4:30 pm last Wednesday. He was 78 years old at the time of his death. His father, Shaheed Aju Patwari, was martyred at the hands of the Pakistani invaders and local Razakars while he was a freedom fighter.
In 1971, he was serving in the Pakistan Army as a Corporal, later he participated in the great freedom struggle under Sector No. 2 and trained the freedom fighters. The death of this freedom fighter cast a shadow of grief over Kamalnagar. He left behind a wife, 4 sons, 4 daughters and countless admirers. Family sources said that he will be buried with state honours at his family graveyard at 10 am tomorrow.
