Oikya Front's seat distribution, 'thorn in the neck' 3 seats

Dhaka:

3 seats became controller in BNP seat distribution with Jatiya Oikya Front. Out of those 3 seats in Dhaka, there are heavyweight candidates of BNP in 2 seats. But Ganoforum, one of the partners of Oikya Front, is unwilling to give up two seats. Although BNP is willing to give concession for General Secretary of 1 Constituency of Dhaka.

It is known that BNP is not able to satisfy Ganoforum even though the other two partners of Oikya Front can satisfy JSD and Nagrik Oikya. As a result, even after the Oikya Front steering committee meetings, no decision is being made on seat sharing. As a result, negotiations on seat distribution can take place till the day before withdrawal of nominations. However, BNP has already decided the issue of seat distribution with its long time ally 20 party alliance.

However, BNP leaders say that there will be no rift in the Oikya Front over the distribution of seats. The final decision on the matter will be made before December 9, the last day for withdrawal of nominations.

Meanwhile, the leaders of the People's Forum say that the BNP should be more liberal about seat distribution. Dr. played a major role in the creation of national unity. Kamal Hossain and Mustafa Mohsin Montu. Dr. Because of Kamal Hossain, BNP leaders and workers are now able to get out of the bag. So the general secretary of the party, Montu, should be exempted by BNP.

It is known that BNP has asked Oikya Front's partner parties to submit their nominations as the seat sharing has not been finalised. As a result, the candidates of the participating parties submitted their nominations.

According to related sources, BNP may give 60 seats to the partners of Jatiya Oikya Front and 20 party alliance. Out of this, BNP has given 25 seats to Jamaat and 15 seats to other partners in the 20-party alliance. BNP wants to give the remaining 20 seats to Ganaforum, JSD and Nagrik Oikya.

Although at one time the three partner parties of Oikya Front claimed 15 seats from BNP. But despite withdrawing from that demand, complications have arisen mainly with the three seats demanded by General Secretary of Ganaforum Mustafa Mohsin Montu. Mustafa Mohsin Montu is interested in election from Dhaka-1, Dhaka-2 and Dhaka-7 constituencies.

Ganaferam is absolutely unwilling to give concession to BNP in these three seats. But in Dhaka-1 and 2 constituencies, BNP is in trouble as they have 2 heavyweight candidates. BNP Chairperson's Advisor Aman Ullah Aman and Standing Committee Member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy are candidates of BNP in these two constituencies respectively. Ganoforum is not satisfied with Mustafa Mohsin Mantu's agreement to leave Dhaka-7 seat. As a result, Oikya Front leaders are able to resolve the issue even after meeting in stages.

As Ganaferam is still adamant about giving their candidates in those three constituencies, analysts believe that the resolution of the issue can be made till the day before the withdrawal of nominations. In this regard, the national unity front is scheduled to meet again on Thursday (November 29).

A leader of Jatiya Oikya Front said on condition of anonymity that now informal meetings are being held every day. The delay is mainly due to the inability to reach a consensus with the public forum.

However, BNP and Ganaforum leaders are reluctant to talk about seat sharing. When asked to several BNP leaders, they expressed their unwillingness to talk about this. Mustafa Mohsin Montu, general secretary of Ganoforum, is not ready to speak now.

However, Latiful Bari Hamim, a member of media wing of Gano Forum, said that BNP should be generous about seat distribution. We want national unity to survive. Let's all choose together. Mostafa Mohsin Montu's role in creating national unity is many. So BNP should decide the matter by exempting him.
