Awami League candidates 62 seats for 233 participants

As negotiations continue, further changes may result in the National Party having the most seats

In the last two days, party nominations for several seats of Awami League have been changed. Similarly, the nomination of alliance partners has also been finalised. According to the latest count, Awami League has given party nominations for a total of 233 seats. On the other hand, Jatiya Party has been given the most seats among the partners. As of yesterday's latest news, they have secured 44 seats.

According to Awami League's policy-making sources, negotiations with the partners of the Grand Alliance are continuing. There may be further changes in this regard. At the same time, the Awami League candidate is being discussed at the top level of the party. Multiple letters of nomination are being given in several constituencies. To know the final candidate of the Grand Alliance, we have to wait until the last day of withdrawal of nomination papers on December 9.

Apart from this, five seats have been given to Workers Party, five seats to United Front led by former President AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury, three seats to Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-Jasad (INU), two seats to Bangladesh Jasad (Ambia), two seats to Tariqat Federation and one seat to Jatiya Party-JP. As of yesterday, Awami League has given 62 seats to the Grand Alliance partners. However, the discussion on seat distribution continues. It was discussed with the partners last night as well. A few seats may change by this evening. Besides, some other seats of Awami League may also be reshuffled. Further inquiries are being made regarding the seats where two candidates have been given. Those who will be ahead in the field survey under the management of several organizations and the Awami League President will be the final candidates. Even the seats of the grand coalition may undergo further changes at the last minute. According to Awami League sources, Awami League has taken a strategic role in the election of the 11th National Assembly. In some constituencies, two candidates have been placed. In some constituencies, alliance partners have also been asked to field candidates. This strategy of the party is to choose the candidate who can fight the election with the candidate of BNP or Jatiya Oikya Front. Regarding this, Awami League General Secretary Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said in a press conference last Monday afternoon, "We have sent a letter to the party's candidates. Coalition partners have also written letters to their candidates. After final review we will announce the alliance candidate.

According to party sources, the ruling party is doing the tallying of votes hard. All three hundred seats are being closely monitored. Awami League president Sheikh Hasina is taking the latest news of all constituencies. He does not want to take any risk with this election. That's why he will keep the candidates who are 'winners' in the voting field. Alliance candidates have been asked to submit nominations in some constituencies for strategic reasons. The candidate who is better in the last poll will be the candidate of the Grand Alliance. According to party sources, 44 seats have been reserved for the main coalition partner Jatiya Party. 13 seats have been allocated to the partners of the 14-party coalition. On the other hand, the newly joined Alternative-led United Front has been given five seats. Apart from this, consideration is being given to giving a seat to Zaker's party. Last night also there was a dispute over this. But the final decision may come by this morning. Yesterday, changes were made in the nomination of three seats of Awami League. Current MP Kabirul Haque Mukti got Awami League's nomination for Narail-1 seat. But JSD (Part) President Sharif Nurul Ambia took the certificate signed by Awami League President Sheikh Hasina to fight with a boat in that seat yesterday. It is assumed that, in the end, he will fight for this seat with a boat. Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, Member of Presidium of Awami League and Deputy Leader of Parliament, MP elected repeatedly in Faridpur-2 Constituency. When the letter was given to the party's candidates, his name was not there. The leaders and workers of the party were of the opinion that the seat will be left to Zaker's party this time. But yesterday morning the party nomination letter was given to the current MP Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury. Similarly, actor Akbar Hossain Pathan was nominated by Awami League for Dhaka-17 constituency. Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League Joint General Secretary Quader Khan received the party's nomination from this seat yesterday afternoon. In other words, two candidates have been placed in Dhaka-17 seat. Among the Jasad leaders, Sharif Nurul Ambia has been nominated to contest Narail-1 (Kalia) seat. Moinuddin Khan Badal of the same party has been given boat certificate in Chittagong-8 constituency. This Jasdar leader is the current Member of Parliament of that constituency. Yesterday, from the Dhanmondi office of Awami League President Sheikh Hasina, Tarikat Federation Chairman Syed Najibul Bashar Maizbhandari and member Anwar Khan were given the certificate of candidacy in the boat symbol. Chittagong-2 Syed Najibul Bashar Maizbhandari and Laxmipur-1 Anwar Hossain Khan will fight with boat symbol. Party's nomination letter has been given to Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman, President of Jatiya Press Club in Chandpur-4 Constituency.
