On Wednesday (September 19), the Minister of Education held an exchange meeting with the teacher leaders in the conference room of the Ministry of Education. The teacher leaders present in the meeting gave this information.
The meeting started at 10:30 am and ended at 1 pm. In this two-and-a-half-hour exchange meeting, the teacher leaders informed the Education Minister about various problems and demands. The teacher leaders discussed with the education minister about the allocation of bulk for the retirement and welfare of private teachers-employees, re-establishment of educational institutes, MPO and govt. The Minister of Education listened to the speech of the teacher leaders one by one.
At the end of the meeting, the minister said, this time the new institution will be included in the MPO. Online applications have already been invited from non-MPO institutions. 9 thousand 4 98 applications have been submitted online from various schools-college-madrasa-technical institutes.
He also said, 'Scrutiny is going on under the direction of the government, especially the Prime Minister. According to the instructions of the Prime Minister, on-the-spot verification will be carried out at the field level. MPO will be included after verification.' He also mentioned that this process will continue in the future.
At the end of the exchange meeting, the leader of the Freedom Teachers' Council and member-secretary of the Retirement Facilities Board, Sharif Ahmad Sadi, said that the Prime Minister has approved Tk 757 crore for the retirement and welfare fund. We have received the letter in this regard.
At the special invitation of the minister, the convener of the newly formed Independence BCS General Education Council, Professor Md. Nasir Uddin, member-secretary Syed Zafar Ali and No. 1 joint-convener Bipu Chandra Sarkar participated in the meeting. Principal Shahjahan Alam Saju highlighted all the demands of the teachers in his half-hour opening speech. After the meeting, Shahjahan Saju said that after a long time, the teachers were able to talk openly with the Education Minister. My organization thinks that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will announce 5 percent increase and Boishakhi allowance before the 11th Parliament elections.
At the end of the meeting, the president of Bangladesh Madrasa General Teachers Association, Md. Harun-or-Rashid said, the new private educational institution (Madrasa) manpower structure and MPO policy for Kamil/Fazil/Alim/Dakhil Madrasa administrative positions (Principal, Vice-Principal, Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent) teaching experience in Arabic subjects. Chai General (non-Arabic) teachers are deprived of administrative posts. He demanded to amend these issues of the policy.
