Three children died after drowning in Kshmipur water. The dead children are Bayezid (7), son of Khalilur Rahman of that village, son of Firoz Alam. Ali (5) and Jahangir's son Yamin (7). Ali and Yamin are maternal cousins among the dead.
The accident took place in Mahadevpur village of Dalal Bazar Union of Sadar Upazila on Friday afternoon.
It is known that a pond in the house is being filled with sand. Three children drowned while playing in the sand pile on the bank of that pond.
According to the relatives, one of the children fell into the water first and the other two tried to rescue him. All three people drowned in the water.
Laxmipur Zilla Parishad member Mamun Bin Zakaria confirmed the death.
