'Third party in movement, go back to class'

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked the students to go back to classes saying that a third party has stepped in to take advantage of the movement demanding safe roads. At the same time, he urged to verify the information without listening to rumours.

The Prime Minister addressed the inauguration ceremony of optical fiber connectivity in 300 Union Parishads of 10 districts through video conference from Ganabhaban on Sunday (August 05).

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged the parents and teachers to take the students back to class and said that the third party is coming, suddenly the sale of uniforms has increased, ID cards are being sold from Palashi Mor.

He said, enough is not enough, the boys and girls of the house should go back home. Must study. I don't want any parents to be empty handed. Because I understand the pain of loss. Request to parents, take children back home. Anyone who can kill people with fire can do anything.

Expressing apprehension of the untoward incident, the Prime Minister said, "People have come here from outside Dhaka, their job is to carry out terrorist activities. Whenever I come to know about it, I feel terrified." If something happens to the students now, who will take responsibility for it?

Alleging that a group is trying to confuse the situation in the country, the Prime Minister said that a group of people is trying to complicate the situation by spreading misinformation. Please don't listen to any kind of rumours, don't be misled by false propaganda.

Sheikh Hasina said, whatever you see or hear, verify it first. Don't trust anything without verifying. I request this especially to school students and youth.

Criticizing a section of the media, the Prime Minister said that some newspapers do not like their fair political style. They want something else to happen. If they get a flag on the car, it can be a minister. Why not do politics if it's such a hobby? What right to destabilize the country with false information?

Regarding the attack on his political office on Saturday (04 August), the Awami League president said that they attacked our party office. 17 of our staff are in the hospital. If the attackers were students, they would have books in their bags. Why would there be stones?

Sheikh Hasina said, there (Awami League president's political office in Dhanmondi) or 4 people were killed and bodies were left. The girls were captured and tortured. After this rumour, the BCL secretary brought 20/25 students to the office. There they (students) eagerly searched for everything. They did not get anything anywhere.

Highlighting the BNP Jamaat movement in the past, the Prime Minister said that the studies of talented students like Anik and Hridiya were stopped by fire. They have killed many students, many people in the past by petrol bombs like these brilliant students in 2018. Everyone, especially young students, should beware of them.

The government is working to make the roads safe
Regarding the new traffic law, the Prime Minister said, the traffic law has been sent to the ministry for vetting. It will come to the Cabinet and then it will be passed by Parliament.

He said, we have already done many things. Still over bridge, under pass. Overbridges should be used to cross roads. Who will be responsible for an accident if someone crosses the road leaving the overbridge?

The Prime Minister said, there are some things that don't happen in a day. Which will take some time to implement. But we are trying.
