A young woman named Maryam Begum, a top drug dealer, has been arrested by the police from Kanshipur area of Bashikpur union of Chandraganj police station of Lakshmipur district. Meanwhile, 76 pieces of Yaba were seized from him.
It is known that on Monday (May 21) afternoon, based on secret information, a group of police led by SI Kazi Anwar Hossain and ASI Bikash Barua in charge of Poddar Bazar Police Camp conducted a raid in Kanshipur area and arrested Maryam Begum along with 76 pieces of yabas.
Locals say Maryam Begum's husband Pingku Mia is a top drug dealer. As he is on the run, his wife takes over the drug business. In this regard, police officer Kazi Anwar Hossain said that he has prepared to file a case as a plaintiff.
