Dr. Asif Nazrul wants Kamal as the leader

Claiming that there is no rule of law in the country, Professor Asif Nazrul of the Law Department of Dhaka University has called upon Gano Forum President Kamal Hossain to lead the fight to establish this rule.

He said this in an exchange of views on 'Rule of Law and Democracy' organized by the Supreme Court Bar Association at the Supreme Court's Shamchul Haque Chowdhury Hall on Friday. Various groups and professional leaders who are staunch critics of the government participated in it.

According to this law professor, the rule of law means three things. One. The country will run on the basis of law. But he is not seeing any justice in the country.

"No case has been filed against me during the tenure of any government, but this government has filed several cases against me. We have laws but laws are not being obeyed.'

The second point that Asif Nazrul raised is the application of law in public interest. Said, 'But we don't have that in our country.'

And the third 'condition' of governance is the making of laws with the consent of the people. Asif Nazrul thinks that there was no consent of the people in the last election.

Said, 'So how is the rule of law now? If there is no real election, Bangladesh will not have the constitution and the spirit of the liberation war.'

legal fight by doing Khaleda free do let's see

Mahmudur Rahman Manna, the former Awami League leader and the current convenor of Nagrik Oikya, spoke in the exchange of views. He thinks it is not possible to free BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia in a legal battle.

Manna said, 'The leaders of BNP say that they will conquer Begum Zia by fighting the law, let's see?'

The former Awami League leader claimed that thousands of crores of rupees of corruption are being committed in the country and said, 'There is no justice for him, and Begum Zia is jailed for two crore rupees for five years, what a strange country!'

According to Manna, Begum Zia was sentenced because there is no rule of law in the country and now she is not getting bail.

President of the Supreme Court Lawyers Association Jainul Abedin also spoke at the seminar chaired by Gano Forum President Kamal Hossain, Advisor to BNP Chairperson Khandkar Mahbub Hossain, pro-BNP intellectual Zafrullah Chowdhury, lawyer Shahdin Malik and others.
