A computer or laptop never has an 'A' or 'B' drive. Drives are named starting with 'C'. But why?
If you are a beginner computer user, you probably know the answer to this question. But if you are a user of the current generation, then surely the question arises in your mind that why the drive name of your computer or laptop of Windows operating system starts with 'C'?
That is, the main drive of the computer always starts with 'C' and then the other drives are sequentially 'D', 'E', 'F'. And if using USB drive on computer, then it is 'G' and 'H'. So what happened to the 'A' and 'B' drives?
Anyway, now know the answer. When computers first hit the market, they didn't have internal storage. Floppy disk drives were initially used as storage in computers. Floppy disk was initially used as 'A' drive in computers. Floppy disks came in two sizes, 5 1/4 inches and 3 1/2 inches. As a result, when both floppy disks were used in computers, they were named 'A' and 'B' drives.
