Staff Reporter: Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited Rajshahi Zone organized the scholarship distribution ceremony on Monday at Islami Bank Medical College Auditorium, Rajshahi. Chairman of the bank, Engineer Mustafa Anwar, as the chief guest, distributed scholarships and educational materials among the underprivileged meritorious students.
Bangladesh Bank Rajshahi Deputy General Manager Mir Afzalur Rashid Chowdhury, Bank's Executive Vice President and Company Secretary Abu Reza Md. Yahia, Rajshahi Zone Chief. Faizul Kabir, professor of Rajshahi University. FMAH Tawaki, Principal of Islami Bank Medical College Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam along with heads of various educational institutions of Rajshahi and parents of scholarship students were present. Scholarships were awarded to 206 meritorious underprivileged students in the event. Rayejid Bostami of Chapainababanj, Shyamali Khatun of Kushtia, Joy Kumar Das of Rajshahi and Nazmul Huda of Natore spoke expressing their feelings on behalf of the scholarship students.
Engineer Mustafa Anwar said in the speech of the chief guest that Islami Bank has given opportunities to underprivileged talented students to work for the welfare of the society and the country by providing scholarships. This bank is working for the welfare of people and socio-economic development of the country through banking services and CSR activities. He called upon all concerned to come forward to build a compassionate and humane society.
Mohammad Abdul Mannan said in the president's speech, Islami Bank is working to establish a humane bank system by reducing the disparity between the rich and the poor. This bank has been providing scholarships to meritorious students every year out of a sense of responsibility towards the deprived people of the society. Encouraging the scholarship students, he urged them to contribute to the nation building.
