International Desk: Neighboring country India has expressed its full support to the steps taken by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League government to deal with various incidents of attacks and terrorism on minority Hindus in Bangladesh. India's External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said this at an annual press conference in Delhi on Sunday.
Sushma Swaraj made it clear that the Indian government is disturbed by the recent attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh. It must be admitted that the Sheikh Hasina government is taking strict action against these attackers and already more than three thousand suspects have been arrested across Bangladesh.
He also said that it is a very happy news that the Islamic religious leaders of Bangladesh have issued a fatwa describing such attacks as anti-Islamic and millions of religious leaders have signed it.
In response to the question whether the Indian government will give shelter to persecuted minorities from Bangladesh if they come to India, Sushma said, 'When we talk about persecuted minorities, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains are all included in it. By oppressed minorities we are not only talking about Hindus. As a result, when India is preparing policies for refugees, it is being made keeping in mind the oppressed minorities from our neighboring countries.
