Leaders and activists of various districts have started coming to Dhaka on the occasion of the departmental mass meeting on December 10. Some of them are staying at the houses of relatives and friends, but many are spending the night below the Nayapaltan BNP central office.
Farmer Manjur Alam came from Chakria in Cox's Bazar. He said, 'The country is not running properly. With the rise in commodity prices, the prices of fertilizers, seeds and pesticides have also increased. Now the farmer is suffering the most. I want to change this situation. I came to Dhaka yesterday Monday. There is no place to stay, I am staying in the office of the party. I am eating here.'
Tangail Sadar Thana BNP member Syed Khalek Mostafa also came to Dhaka on Monday. The mat is spread under the office with others.
A person named Abdul Jalil came from Bhola Sadar. Jalil was saying, 'I came to the BNP rally because I was angry with the ruling party. I am deeply saddened by the torture of Awami League leaders and activists in the area. Due to their torture, more than 20 lakhs of rupees have been lost. I have come to the BNP rally to protest all this.'
Another 15 to 20 people like Syed Khalek Mustafa, Manzoor Alam and Abdul Jalil were seen sleeping under the Nayapaltan BNP central office on Tuesday night.
Dhaka Metropolitan South Youth Dal convener Golam Mawla Shaheen is looking after these people. Along with them, they are arranging food for the workers who are stationed in front of the central office of BNP. Cooking is going on under the office.
