Narayanganj City Corporation election campaign is over. According to the schedule announced by the Election Commission, polling will start from 8 am on Thursday. Before that, according to the election code of conduct, all types of election campaigns have been stopped from 12 midnight on Tuesday.

Sakhawat told reporters during a public meeting, "I have filed many complaints with the Election Commission, but none of them have been addressed." Sakhawat said, 'We have participated in this election to re-establish people's right to vote through this election. Today there is a mass tide in favor of rice grains. People want to give their verdict in favor of a change.' He expects everyone to go to the center to vote on December 22.

Alleging that Awami League's mayoral candidate Selina Hayat Ivy has violated the electoral code of conduct, BNP's mayoral candidate said, 'She (Ivy) has brought down the government officials of the City Corporation for election work. By spreading the influence of the government party, they are harassing our leaders and workers in various ways by giving their people. My polling agents are being influenced in various ways so that they do not perform their duties. My posters are being torn down at various places. In this regard, I have informed the Election Commission, the Election Commission has not taken any action in this regard.'

However, Awami League candidate Selina Hayat Ivy rejected these allegations.

On the last day of the campaign, Ivy held public meetings in her ward (16) and 18. From morning to noon, he went door-to-door to voters in Deobogh, Baburail, Beparipara, Pakkarod areas of ward number 16 and asked for votes. Later, from afternoon to night, he did mass communication in Nitaiganj, Shitalakshya, Sukumpatti, Alamin Nagar, Syedpur area of Ward No. 18.

At this time, Ivy told reporters that the law and order forces are in a very strict position in the election. I will also appeal to them to create an environment where the people of Narayanganj can go to the center and vote freely.

In response to a question from journalists about the role of party district president Shamim Osman, Ivy said, 'His role in the election was never negative, he was always positive in the election. He is a leader of the party. So he was always positive and always will be.'

When asked how he sees the election field last time and this year, Ivy said, 'I don't see any difference. Last time I visited, I got this kind of response. This time too I am getting the same response.'

Regarding BNP candidate Sakhawat Hossain's complaint, Ivy said, 'His complaint is absolutely not correct. I told him myself, if someone misbehaves with you or your workers, then call me. I have a good relationship with him. We are from this city. I don't think he was wronged anywhere.

Claiming that Sakhawat was only complaining to the media, Ivy said, 'I told him, if my brother is involved in misbehaving with you, I will hand him over to the law enforcement agencies.' Ivy said he wants a free, impartial and fair election.

Ivy hopes that everyone will go to the festival center and vote on polling day.

If there is disorder in the polling station, shoot: DIG

Police Dhaka Range DIG Mahfuzul Haque Nuruzzaman said that if there is an attempt to create disorder in the polling station in the Narayanganj City Corporation election, firing has been ordered. He said this in response to the questions of the journalists after the briefing of the policemen on duty in the Masdair Police Line area of the city on Tuesday afternoon.

Nuruzzaman said, "The law provides for firing in self-defense and security of people's lives and property. In the election, someone captures the polling station and steals the ballot box or the safety of people's lives and property

If any policeman does not fire, action will be taken against him.” DIG Nuruzzaman said that additional forces have been given to the Election Commission to conduct the elections in a fair and impartial manner, "More will be given if necessary." He said, “There is no time to see who is the government party or who is the opposition party. Law and order forces will take all steps to ensure fair elections and security and peace of citizens. Strict action will be taken against those who try to create chaos."

Commenting that there is no opportunity to violate the law here, Nuruzzaman said, 'Police members have been told to act with respect to all without misbehaving with anyone'.

Returning Officer Nuruzzaman Talukder told reporters that 9,500 law enforcement personnel have been deployed in the city around the election. He said that no criminal can carry out any activity by breaking through such a big security fence.
