Those who hoisted the flag on the car are also war criminals

Pally News Desk:

Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has also called those who placed the blood-stained flags of 3 million martyrs on the cars of war criminals as war criminals. She said, they are equally guilty. They will also be tried for war crimes. They are traitors. No matter how many conspiracies there are, no one can protect them. No conspiracy can prevent their trial.

He made this statement while addressing a discussion meeting organized by the Bangladesh Awami League at the Krishibid Institute Hall in the capital's Farmgate on December 14, Martyred Intellectuals Day.

Sheikh Hasina said, "After the assassination of Bangabandhu in 1975, a dark cloud came over the life of the nation. Now that cloud has passed. So that no one can play with the fate of the people of this country, everyone must unite and stand under the flag of the Awami League."

He said that on December 14, intellectuals from different classes and professions of society were arrested and killed in a very planned manner. They were stabbed with bayonets, their hands and feet were cut off, they were shot, and their chest bones were broken.

The Prime Minister said that the Pakistani soldiers who came from 1200 miles away did not know the roads or houses of this country. But because the Razakars, Al-Badr, Al-Shams, who are friends of the Pakistanis in this country, cooperated with the Pakistani army, they were able to carry out massive massacres. These unscrupulous people captured and killed intellectuals to demoralize the nation. Those who cooperated with the Pakistani army never believed in independence. Many of them proudly said that this country would never be independent. But they were forced to surrender to the brave Bengalis of this country. Even then, they did not stop. They still continue their conspiracy.

He said, "It is unfortunate that when a country becomes independent, people know its history. But those who came to power after the assassination of Bangabandhu in 1975 have distorted the true history of the Liberation War."

He further said, if a nation does not know its true history, that nation cannot stand tall. They have distorted history, violated the constitution. Those whom Bangabandhu had started to prosecute for war crimes, Ziaur Rahman broke the military law and freed them. If Zia had been a true proclaimer of freedom, he would not have been able to free war criminals from jail.

Sheikh Hasina said, "Allah has saved me from death many times. During the grenade attack, the leaders protected me by forming a human wall. Some of them even died. Not all of them are traitors. There are many good people in this country. That is why we are moving forward despite hundreds of obstacles and dangers. I am moving forward with courage because the party leaders and activists are with me."

He said, "If someone comes to power and wants to enjoy, he will not be able to serve the people. Whenever the Awami League came to power, the people of this country got something. Those who were in power after '75 did not have good thinking. They were only thinking about how to loot and eat, how to get help from abroad."

He said to them, "Why go on an evil path? When you die, your wealth will not go with you. So why loot, why fight, why riot?"

Sheikh Hasina said, "Today, because I am in power, visible development is happening. The sacrifices of those who know how to sacrifice will never go in vain. We are moving forward, we will move forward, no one can stop us."

Among others who spoke at the discussion meeting were Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury, the composer of the song 'Amar Bhaiyer Rokte Rangano Ekushey February Ami Ki Bhulite Pari', Shaheen Rezanur, son of martyred journalist Siraj Uddin Hossain, and Dr. Nuzhat Chowdhury, daughter of martyred Dr. Alim Chowdhury.

The program was conducted by Dr. Hasan Mahmud. In addition, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, Awami League leaders Tofail Ahmed, Sheikh Selim, Matia Chowdhury, along with cabinet members and central leaders of the party were present on the stage.
