Pally News Desk:
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has recalled the great sacrifice of martyred intellectuals and called on everyone to come forward to build the 'Golden Bangla' dream of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu, free from hunger, poverty and illiteracy. She said that no conspiracy can stop the progress and development of the nation.
The Prime Minister made these remarks in a message on Tuesday afternoon. The Prime Minister gave this message on the occasion of Martyred Intellectuals Day on December 14.
Sheikh Hasina said, "Martyr Intellectuals Day is a dark chapter in our national life. At the dawn of independence, the anti-liberation forces, knowing their defeat was certain, killed Bengali intellectuals in a despicable conspiracy to demoralize Bangladesh."
The Prime Minister said, 'After the government was formed in 2009 with a huge mandate from the people, those accused of crimes against humanity, including the murderers of intellectuals, were brought to justice. The verdicts of most of the top war criminals have already been implemented. All the remaining verdicts will be implemented. But the defeated forces of 1971 are conspiring at home and abroad to thwart this trial. They are trying to destabilize the country.'
Sheikh Hasina firmly said, "The government is very resolutely resisting these conspiracies and taking forward the justice process. We will free the nation from the stigma by implementing the punishment of all war criminals. No conspiracy will be able to divert the nation from this path."
The Prime Minister said, "Those who are trying to protect the criminals will also be brought to justice one day. With everyone's collective efforts, we will be able to build Bangladesh as a democratic, non-communal, happy and prosperous country free from militancy."
Sheikh Hasina said, 'The conspiracy of this evil force against freedom has not stopped. This defeated force of the Liberation War killed the Father of the Nation along with his family on August 15, 1975. It perpetrated torture and torture on free-minded teachers, writers, journalists and politicians. It gave rise to militancy and terrorism in the country by inciting communalism. These terrorists and militant groups ruled the country from 2001 to 2006. They spread the poison of communalism. This became the suffocation of the people.'
In the message, the Prime Minister said, 'The Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, fought against Pakistani discrimination and exploitation for 24 years and organized the entire people of the country and declared independence. Responding to Bangabandhu's call, the Bengalis jumped into the Liberation War. But some fanatic political parties, including Jamaat, took a stand against the Liberation War. They formed Al-Badr, Al-Shams and Razakar forces to help the Pakistani occupying forces and, in addition to killing, raping, arson and looting, committed acts of violence.'
Expressing the hope that the nation will forever remember with respect the sacrifices of all freedom fighters, including martyred intellectuals, the Prime Minister said, "On the eve of the victory of the Bengali nation, they brutally killed the country's talented children, including educationists, journalists, writers, doctors, scientists, lawyers, artists, engineers, philosophers and political thinkers. The opponents of independence took revenge for the defeat through this planned and brutal massacre. The main goal of this massacre was to ensure that Bangladesh could never raise its head."
Sheikh Hasina expressed deep respect for all martyred freedom fighters, including martyred intellectuals, and deep condolences to their family members.
