A fish trader named Md. Kabir Hossain (28) was killed after being run over by a freight truck in Lakshmipur. The incident took place on the Dhaka-Raipur road in the Joksin Bazar area of Sadar Upazila at around 3 pm on Wednesday. The deceased Kabir is the son of Kalu Mia of Sahapur village in Sadar Upazila. He is a prominent fish trader in the market.
Locals said that the businessman was crossing the highway at Joksin Bazar. At that time, a freight truck from Lakshmipur hit him from behind. He died on the spot. At that time, locals seized the truck and handed it over to the police and sent the deceased's body to the morgue of Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital.
Lakshmipur Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Abdullah Al Mamun confirmed the incident.
