Lakshmipur's unemployed ultra-poor are deprived of the joy of Eid

Lakshmipur: Laxmipur's ultra-poor people are spending idle time due to lack of work. Due to the lack of government support, the poor people of Lakshmipur district are being financially deprived of the joy of Eid. In the past, Eid clothes, sarees, lungi, Punjabi and daily necessities like sugar, semai etc. were distributed among the poor through individual initiatives and at the private level, but this year it was not as visible as before. Two social organizations of Raipur and Prothom Alo Bandhu Sabha and Manab Kantha Pathak Forum Setubandhan were seen distributing some Eid dresses at different places. On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, rice has been allotted at the rate of 20 kg for the poor families of Laxmipur district, said Sarbik Sazzadul Hasan, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Laxmipur. However, when Laxmipur District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer Md. Borhan Uddin was called this afternoon (Monday) to know how much rice has been distributed among the distressed families, it was not possible to know as he did not receive the call. Officially, 20 kg of rice has been allocated for each poor family, but it is reported that 15 kg has been distributed among the poor. It is alleged that the employment scheme for the very poor of Lakshmipur district has been launched but the very poor are not getting the benefits of this scheme. It is said that the PIO of the relief department loots the majority of the allocation of the project. Although the name of the project is Employment Program for the Very Poor, it is said that the very poor do not know anything about the project. Although the super poor are supposed to be workers in this project, they are not being employed as workers in this project. The question of who are the workers of this project has not yet been answered. It is known that many eat plums with salt on the heads of the poor. At present, due to lack of work, the poor, who were unemployed, are not getting the opportunity to buy semi-sugar. However, the allocation of billions of rupees in the name of the very poor is being turned into a windfall. It is said that some are increasing the storeys by looting the money of the poor. What is the number of very poor in Lakshmipur district? Which union would be the poor? It was supposed to be published on the website of every union but the list of the poor was not published on the website of every union. Also, although there is a list of the destitute on the website of some unions, it is said that those on the list have not been appointed as workers under the employment program for the ultra-poor. In Lakshmipur district, there is a project called the employment program for the very poor, but it is said that the very poor are not getting any benefit from this project. It is said that the upazila project implementation officers take commission from 3% to 40% from the allocation of this project. According to local experts, if the project called the employment program for the ultra-poor is implemented according to the principles of the project, the ultra-poor of Lakshmipur district could enjoy the joy of Eid with everyone.
