A behendi net and 800 meters of current net seized from the Meghna river at Ramgatti in Laxmipur were set on fire.
On Monday evening, the seized illegal nets were set on fire and destroyed in the Alexander Launchghat area. Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) SM Shafi Kamal was present on the occasion.
In the afternoon, the Coast Guard raided the Meghna River and seized the illegal nets. The estimated value of which is about 2 lakhs.
Ramgati Coast Guard Contingent Commander Md. Nashir Uddin confirmed this.
