President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to the millions of martyrs of the Liberation War on the great Victory Day.
They paid their respects by laying wreaths at the National Memorial in Savar at 6:34 am on December 16.
After paying their respects, the President and Prime Minister stood in silence for a moment to remember the martyrs. A mournful tune was played on the bugle.
Then, Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah paid tribute on behalf of the National Parliament.
Later, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, as the Awami League president, along with the party's top leaders, paid tribute to the martyrs.
After the President and Prime Minister left the memorial, it was opened to the public.
