Badi Ken in the discussion

Teknaf MP Abdur Rahman Badi is again in the discussion during the anti-narcotics drive across the country. Social media and media are now discussing him. Some people say that action should be taken against this local MP in order to stop 'Yaba Gate', a deadly drug from Myanmar through Teknaf. Even Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said in response to a question from reporters, action will be taken no matter who the culprit is. Badi's involvement in the Yaba business was once hotly debated, but various organizations are again investigating how transparent Badi's statements are. It is known that Teknaf is the main source of dangerous drugs like Yaba. A huge amount of yaba is entering Bangladesh every day from Myanmar. MP Badi's name has repeatedly come up as many local level public representatives and influential people in Teknaf are involved with Yaba. Even his close staff and relatives are allegedly involved. Some of them have already been killed in the crossfire. On May 22, in response to a question from reporters about MP Badi in the secretariat, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, 'We have a complaint against MP Badi. We are looking into those complaints. If you have any information about other drug dealers including Badi, please let us know. There is a complaint against Badi, there is no evidence. After this speech, there has been a stir on social media about Badi.

On December 31 last year, the list of 141 people was sent to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) by the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC). Badi and his five brothers are named as godfathers in that list. A paragraph on the second page of the list mentions, 'The Honorable Member of Parliament Abdur Rahman Badi is one of the controllers of the Yaba world in the country. Nothing happens beyond his command. His willpower is enough to stop the Yaba invasion of the country.'

In the list, Abdur Rahman Badi, a member of parliament of the ruling party, has been called the sole ruler of the drug empire. The names of Badi and his five brothers have also come up in it. They are Maulvi Mujibur Rahman, Abdus Sukkur, Md. Safiq, Abdul Amin and Md. Faisal Among them, the names of his five brothers are included in the list of almost all the government agencies except the member of parliament Abdur Rahman Badi. However, apart from his brother, the list includes the names of Badi's PS Mong Mong Sen and nephew Sahedur Rahman Nipu.

The preface of the Narcotics Control Department's list-related confidential report says, 'By being a government MP, he has a significant number of followers/associates and is involved in illegal income from arbitrary yaba trade and other sources. Top yaba traders dare not trade yaba against his will. Neither the other top drug lords of the district nor any extortionists in Teknaf are able to exert influence against his will. His willpower can play a major role in stopping the yaba trade, especially smuggled from Myanmar.' Meanwhile, in the list made by DNC a year ago, the number of Yaba traders is said to be more than 1,200 people. Two years ago there were 554 people in the list. Both lists include Abdur Rahman Badi, his own two brothers and two half-brothers among the Yaba traders of Cox's Bazar. He has many 'followers'. Badir's own brother in the list. The names of Abdush Sukkur and Maulvi Mujibur Rahman, two half-brothers Abdul Amin and Faisal Rahman have come up. Apart from this, Badir's brothers Akhtar Kamal and Shahed Kamal, uncle Haider Ali, cousin Kamrul Islam Russell and nephew Nipu are also involved in the Yaba business, the report said. The report names Badi's close and right-hand man Zafar Ahmed and his four sons as top businessmen. These are Shah Jahan, Ilyas, Didarul Alam and Mostak Ahmad. Shah Jahan is the chairman of Union Parishad. Eldest son Mostak Ahmed is missing. The common people of Teknaf lamented that the land of beauty now floats in Teknaf Yaba. Common people don't want to live here anymore because of yaba traders. Many do not even identify themselves outside. In February 2015, law enforcement forces killed six people close to Badi in a crossfire in Teknaf. It is known that Yaba is the main business of people of Teknaf. Teknaf's politics and economy are all centered on Yaba. From public representatives, politicians, businessmen, police and law enforcement, there is no sector that is not involved in Yaba business. Yaba is now such a lucrative business that hundreds of businessmen are investing in Yaba, abandoning various legitimate businesses including salt, fishing and timber. And because of these reasons Teknaf on the border has become a paradise for drugs. Teknaf is a beautiful land of mafias. For this reason, the name of MP Abdur Rahman Badi is repeatedly coming up in Yaba business. In this regard, MP Abdur Rahman Badi's phone rang several times to know his statement, but he did not pick up the phone. A text message was sent at 6:90 p.m. on Thursday evening asking for a statement. But he did not give any answer.
