The leaders of the alliance have requested the Election Commission to announce the schedule of the 11th National Parliament elections after knowing the results of the Jatiya Oikya Front's dialogue with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on November 7.
JSD president ASM Abdur Rob told reporters about this request after a meeting with the commissioners including CEC at Agargaon election building on Monday evening.
He said that the election period is till January 28. Mahabharata will not be impure if November 8 is not scheduled — we have tried to convince the EC.
Abdur Rab also said that we have also asked not to use EVMs in national elections. They could not give any decision.
Earlier, the leaders of Oikya Front held a meeting at the office of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda in the election building of Agargaon from 4:15 pm to evening.
Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury, Barkatullah Bulus and 10 members were present.
On the other hand, CEC KM Nurul Huda along with four Election Commissioners and EC Secretary Helaluddin Ahmed were present.
