Engineer Mahbur Rahman joined as Director General of Bangladesh Water Development Board. He joined this position on Sunday. Earlier he was in charge of the Additional Director General (Eastern Region) of the Board.
Engineer Mahbur obtained his BSc in Civil Engineering degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET) in 1987. He joined Water Development Board as Assistant Engineer (PUR) in 1989.
During his career, he was responsible for designing and planning the Teesta Barrage Project, Khulna-Jesore Water Drainage Project, Ganga Barrage Survey Project and various important riverside conservation projects, irrigation and flood control projects. During his 34 years of service, he has participated in various seminars and trainings in China, Australia, Germany, Netherlands and Thailand. He was born in 1964 in Dinajpur.
