The Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting is Mohammad A. Arafat

Mohammad A. Arafat is the new State Minister for Information and Broadcasting. Mohammad A. Arafat, a two-time Awami League MP, took oath as a member of the Cabinet at Bangabhaban on Thursday (January 11) evening.

Then, the formation of a new cabinet of 37 members was completed through the issuance of the Cabinet Division's Appointment and Portfolio Distribution Notification. Through this, the Awami League formed the government for the fourth consecutive time. Sheikh Hasina became the Prime Minister for the fourth and fifth consecutive times.

Incidentally, Mohammad A Arafat became a member of the Awami League's Central Executive Committee in December 2022. He was then elected as a member of Parliament in the by-election for Dhaka-17 constituency in July 2023 with 28,816 votes.

And on January 7, 2024, he was elected as a member of parliament for the second time from Dhaka-17 constituency in the 12th National Parliament election. He won with the boat symbol, getting 48,059 votes.
