There can be direct shipping between Chittagong-Kopa port

The BGMEA has announced the possibility of launching direct container ship traffic between the European country of Slovenia and the Chittagong Port.

BGMEA says that if direct container shipping between the European country of Slovenia and the Chittagong port is started, it will be possible for Bangladeshi ready-made garments to reach Europe quickly and at a low cost. Possible routes and methods have been discussed in this regard.

A meeting was held between BGMEA President Faruk Hasan and Honorary Consul of the Consulate of Slovenia in Bangladesh Wahid Salam and Honorary Consul of the Consulate of Bangladesh in Estonia Miha Groznik at the BGMEA office in Gulshan, Rajadhani on Monday. After the meeting, they expressed optimism about the movement of ships.

Mitza Dujak, Commercial Director of Copa Port, presented details on various aspects related to Chittagong Port and the direct shipping system with Copa.

Incidentally, direct shipping services have already been launched between Chittagong Port and a port in Italy.

The BGMEA president said that direct routes can make Bangladesh's garment industry more competitive by saving time and cost and can significantly increase Bangladesh's trade with Europe. Every possible way to facilitate all types of export activities, including ready-made garments, is being explored.
