'Butterfly' may hit Khulna coast at noon

Cyclone Titli is getting stronger. Within 74 km of the cyclone center, the wind speed is 120 km/h, which increases to 140 km/h in gust or gale form. 'Titli', which has developed into a cyclonic depression, crossed the Orissa-Andhra coast of India on Thursday morning. As a result, Khulna Meteorological Department said that the cyclone may hit Khulna coastal area around noon today.

The Maritime Safety and Traffic Management Department said that all types of launch operations will be stopped until further orders.

Amirul Azad, officer-in-charge of the Khulna Meteorological Department, said that the cyclone may cross the Odisha coast of India and hit the adjacent coast of Khulna and Sundarbans in the afternoon. Heavy and moderate rainfall may occur during this time.
