Khaleda Zia was sentenced to five years in prison in the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case on February 8 by the temporary fifth special judge court established in Bakshibazar of the capital. Soon after the verdict, he was taken to the old Central Jail on Nazimuddin Road that afternoon. Later, Khaleda Zia appealed to the High Court against this sentence.
Meanwhile, the court sentenced Khaleda Zia to 7 years in the Zia Charitable Trust case.
