Lakshmipur student torture in Comilla Education Board! Preparation of case

Palli News Dex: A student from Kamalnagar Upazila of Lakshmipur has been allegedly beaten up by being tied up in the controller's room of the Comilla Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board. The victim student and his school principal have alleged that six officials and employees of the office tortured him for not providing correct information about handwriting errors in his answer sheet.
Student Mehraj Hossain Rifat, who is undergoing treatment at Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital, made the complaint to a journalist on Saturday afternoon. The injured student Rifat is a JSC examinee of Motirhat High School in Kamalnagar upazila and the son of the late Abi Abdullah Babul of Char Shamsuddin village in the same upazila.
The victim student said that he was expelled for taking the answer sheet of the English 2nd paper subject of last year's JSC examination outside the center. Recently, the Comilla Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board authorities sent him a letter to appear in person. On July 27, he appeared at the office of Comilla Board Controller Kaiser Ahmed along with his school's headmaster. When asked about the mistakes in the answer sheet, he said that a classmate had written them on his answer sheet. Not satisfied with this, the controller got agitated. At one stage, the headmaster was thrown out of the room and Rifat was injured by kicking, punching and beating him. He was first admitted to a private hospital in the district town and later to Sadar Hospital on Saturday.
Nurul Alam, the headmaster of Motir Hat High School, said that when asked about the writing on the answer sheet, the student said that one of his classmates had written it on his answer sheet. Not satisfied with this, Controller Kaiser threw him out of the room and the students were beaten up by the officials and staff.
Rifat's mother Parveen Akhter said that her son was brutally tortured. There are multiple injury marks on his body. She is preparing a case in this incident. She demanded exemplary punishment for those involved.
Sadar Hospital RMO Dr. Anwar Hossain said that there are multiple signs of injury on his body. He has been allowed to undergo some checkups including X-rays. The details of the injuries can be known after seeing the report.
In this regard, Comilla Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Controller Kaiser Ahmed said that the allegations of torture against the student are not true. On July 27, several students were questioned. Mehraj Hossain was the last to be questioned. He first came to talk about a class meeting about writing in the answer sheet. Later, he talked about a teacher named Sumon.
