Five shops were gutted in a fire at Munsirhat in Kamalnagar, Lakshmipur. It has caused a loss of several lakhs of rupees. The fire took place around 3:30 pm on Thursday.
It is known that a team of Lakshmipur Fire Service reached the spot after receiving the information about the fire late at night and brought the fire under control with the help of locals. But by then five shops were burnt down.
The affected businessmen and house owners claimed that five shops including goods were burnt in the fire and there was a loss of several lakhs of rupees.
Babul Munshi, general secretary of the market management committee, confirmed this.
