Fined for insulting the national flag in Kamalnagar

A mobile court has fined Md. Main Uddin Tk 5,000 for insulting the national flag in Kamalnagar, Laxmipur. The mobile court's executive magistrate and upazila executive officer Md. Masudur Rahman Molla gave the verdict on Thursday (December 8) afternoon. Main Uddin is the in-charge of the Kamalnagar upazila branch of Pragati Life Insurance Co. Ltd. and the son of Nuruzzaman of Char Lawrence area.
The traders said that they tied the national flag to a stick and hung it downwards at the office of Pragati Life Insurance Co. Ltd. in Hazirhat Bazar. When the Upazila Executive Officer came across them while passing by, he raided the office. Later, when they confessed to the crime, the magistrate ordered a fine of Tk 5,000 in cash.
