In Laxmipur's Kamalnagar, there are allegations of encroachment of government land and felling of forest department trees and using the logo of BSTI, producing various fake products including biscuits with low quality food items. Using the seal of BSTI without taking the approval of BSTI, a fake factory called Sarat Food Products has been established by copying the wrappers of reputed companies of the country.
This factory has no approval from Department of Environment, Department of Narcotics Control, BSTI, Ministry of Commerce, but the products produced in this factory are marketed with the logo of BSTI. There is no production date, period, batch number of the product, but this factory has been built under the nose of the administration and is selling and marketing in Dedarche.
Locals and businessmen said that under the name of Sarat Food Products, they are making and selling low-quality food products using fake logos of well-known companies in the country. Going to the ground, it can be seen that these products are being made in a very dirty environment and with low quality raw materials.
Locals said that by encroaching the government land and cutting trees of the forest department, an unauthorized factory called Sarat Food Products has been set up manufacturing various food products including biscuits. Ghiyas Ahmed Sarat, the owner of Sarat Food Products, has been accused of encroaching on the boundary pillars of the road and highway in front of the factory located next to the Upazila Animal Resources Office on Ramgati-Laxmipur sub-highway (Toaha Road) and cutting many official trees in front of the factory. against
Locals also said that Ghiyas Ahmed Sarat several sky moni and rain-tree trees were cut and burned in that factory. The wood supply of the factory is provided by cutting all these trees of the forest department.
In this regard, members Mosleh Uddin and Nurul Amin said that despite repeatedly informing the ranch officer of the forest department about the matter of cutting trees, he did not take any action.
Several news were published in the national daily and local, online newspapers last July under the title of cutting down the trees of the factory and the government forest department by imitating the wrapping of forest flowers.
Upazila Safety Inspector (Sanitary Inspector) Mizanur Rahman said, I have prohibited not to use the logo of BSTI, but I have received complaints that he is marketing by placing this logo at night. I will go to the factory immediately and take legal action.
Krishna Kamal Majumder, ranch officer of the upazila forest department, said, confirming the matter of tree cutting, he said that I found signs of tree cutting at the spot. Forward to higher authority for necessary action.
Laxmipur Forest Department Assistant Forest Conservator Md Ali said, I will investigate the matter soon and take action.
Zahirul Islam, Executive Engineer of the Roads and Highways Department said, I have come to know about the matter and I will send people to Sarzamin this week.
In this regard, Gias Ahmed Sarat, the owner of Sarat Food Products, said, I have the approval but could not show it to the reporter. He denied the issue of tree cutting and said, I am not a laborer who will cut trees. When asked that you have used the BSTI seal and are marketing by duplicating the level and packaging of Bonful, he said that every year I distribute some Semai on Eid, so I put this level. He also said that the administration and government party people cannot do anything with me.
