Scholars will stand by Sheikh Hasina to maintain democracy for development

Dhaka:

Qawmi scholars and ulama have pledged to stand by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to advance democracy for development. This was stated in the speeches of the scholars and ulama at the 'Shukrana Mahfil' organized at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined the gathering as the chief guest, which began on Sunday morning (November 4), to recognize the highest level of Qawmi Madrasa education, Dawra-e-Hadith, as a postgraduate degree (Islamic Studies and Arabic). She will be accorded a reception at the event.

Although the formalities began with the Prime Minister's participation, other guests at the mahfil spoke before that.

Maulana Yunus, vice-president of Tanzimul Madaris Arabia, said, "Sheikh Hasina is a true servant of Islam. Bangabandhu's daughter has earned a place in the hearts of Qawmi Madrasa scholars by giving Dawra-e-Hadith the status of a master's degree. Qawmi scholars are also standing by Sheikh Hasina to ensure the continuity of Bangladesh's development."

Maulana Yunus, in addition to expressing his gratitude to Allah Almighty, also expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Other speakers said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has earned a place in the history of Islam by giving the Dawra-e-Hadith of Qawmi Madrasa the equivalent of a master's degree.

The gathering, organized under the banner of 'Hayatul Ulya Lil Jamiatil Qaumi Bangladesh', the highest organization of Qaumi madrasas, is being presided over by the organization's chairman and Amir of Hefazat-e-Islam, Allama Shah Ahmed Shafi.
