The government has decided to close all the educational institutions of the country on Thursday (August 2) due to the death of two students in a road accident. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid told reporters on Wednesday night that the decision to close all institutions has been taken for the sake of students' safety.
However, in a notice from the Department of Secondary and Higher Education, all schools-colleges-madrasas and universities have been directed to continue teaching activities.
In this regard, the director general of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, Professor Md. Mahabubur Rahman, told Daily Shiksha at around 8:30 on Wednesday night that although a notice was given to keep the activities of the educational institutions normal, later the Secretary of Education told me on the phone that he has decided to close all the educational institutions of the country on Thursday (August 2).
