'Butterfly' strikes at high speed, landslides in Andhra-Orissa

Cyclone Titli, formed in the Bay of Bengal, has hit the area between the eastern states of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. At that time, its wind speed was recorded up to 165 kilometers per hour. There were no immediate reports of casualties, but landslides were reported in northern Andhra Pradesh and southern Odisha as the cyclone struck.

On Thursday from 4:30 am to 5:30 am Indian time, various local and Kolkata-based media reported the impact of 'butterflies' on Andhra-Orissa coast.

In this regard, the Meteorological Department said, the speed of the 'butterfly' when it hit Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh was between 140 and 160 km per hour. When it came to the north and hit Odisha, its intensity decreased slightly, at that time its speed was up to 102 km per hour.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has asked Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra sea ports to show local warning signal number four due to 'butterfly'.
