The representatives of Ghatail and Sakhipur (Tangail) said that the police have filed a case against 78 BNP leaders and activists on the charges of sabotage in the upazila. Four accused in this case were arrested on Wednesday night. On the other hand, the police are conducting door-to-door raids of BNP leaders and activists to catch the accused in an old case in Ghatail upazila. BNP executive committee member Obaidul Haque Nasir said that the men of the area have left their homes to avoid arrest. Ghazaria and Lauhjong (Munshiganj) representative said that the victim filed a case against 105 BNP leaders and activists yesterday in the incident of injuring Chhatra League worker Sumon Mia by exploding a cocktail on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway. Five people were arrested later. On the other hand, Awami League leader Firoz Ahmed filed a case against 105 activists in the case of cocktail explosion in Bejgaon cemetery of Lauhjong. Later, the police arrested three leaders of the youth group.
Manikganj representative said that the police have filed a case against 32 BNP leaders and activists in connection with the cocktail explosion on Wednesday night. Narayanganj and Siddhirganj representatives said that the police have filed three new cases in three police stations of Narayanganj on the charges of cocktail explosion and vandalism. In these cases, 72 people of BNP-Jamaat and People's Rights Council have been named and 125 others have been accused. On Thursday morning, these cases were filed in Sadar, Fatulla and Siddhirganj police stations under various laws including the Explosives Act.

Police say the cocktail explosions were caused by a separate torch procession on Wednesday evening. Later, four were arrested in the case of Alamat seizure and Sadar police station and one in Fatullah's case.
