Ferry services on Lakshmipur-Bhola route suspended

Pally News Desk:

Ferry services at Maju Chowdhury Hat Ghat in Laxmipur have been suspended after the RAM of BIWT's Paltan broke under the pressure of a cargo truck. The incident occurred around 3 pm on Wednesday when the RAM broke while a truck carrying salt and turmeric (Dhaka Metro, T-18-4205) leaving from Chittagong was boarding the ferry.
As a result, more than fifty vehicles, including several cargo trucks plying on the Lakshmipur-Bhola river route, were stranded in the ghat area. Ordinary passengers are suffering. At the same time, the Kanak Chapa ferry carrying 5 vehicles is also stranded at the ghat.

Abdul Salam, the master in charge of the stranded ferry Kanakchapa, said that the ferry service will remain suspended until another RAM is installed on the platoon. Ordinary passengers, including women and children, are suffering from food and accommodation problems.
Lashkar Abul Hashem, who is in charge of the platoon at BIWT's Laxmipur Moju Chowdhury's Hat Ferry Ghat, said that efforts are being made to quickly install the RAM.
