A three-day long regional World Ijtema has started in Lakshmipur through Ambayan after Friday prayers.
Khatib Maulana Mohammad Farooq of Kakrail Mosque in Dhaka gave a speech at the beginning of the Ijtema on Friday (December 23).
Earlier, Maulana Mohammad Zobair, member of the same mosque, led the Friday prayer.
More than two lakh worshipers participated in Friday prayers. Pilgrims flocked to the Ijtema field from morning before Friday prayers.
The three-day 'Regional' World Ijtema has started in Lakshmipur from Friday (December 23). Ijtema was organized for three lakh worshipers in a large field on 27 acres of land in Gopta Elka of Bhavniganj Sutar next to Lakshmipur-Ramgati road.
The Ijtema will end on Sunday (December 25) with the last prayer.
