Law and order forces are ready to prevent untoward incidents during Ramadan

Dhaka:

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that the law enforcement forces will be ready to prevent any untoward incident during the month of Ramadan.

He said this in response to a question from journalists at the end of the Second International Conference on Barriers and Disaster Risk Reduction at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital on Thursday (May 17).

The minister said, like every year, this year too we are ready to observe Ramadan smoothly. Law and order forces are ready to prevent any untoward incident.

Regarding the disappearance of some youths in Chittagong recently, he said that most of them are hiding for various purposes. Many consider it as missing. But of the ones we found, most of them hid themselves.

Earlier, in the speech of the chief guest, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the conference on May 15. He directed to implement social security programs with utmost importance to disabled persons. Inclusion of persons with disabilities in the mainstream of development activities of the society, ensuring their equal rights is part of the regular activities of the present government.

He said that around 65 crore people around the world are affected by disabilities. A significant number of people suffer from some form of disability. It is difficult to ensure national development by keeping this large population out of the mainstream of development activities.

"We believe that mainstreaming people with disabilities into the mainstream of development would benefit from their involvement in national disaster and mitigation programmes."

At this time, the senior secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration was also present. Mozzamel Haque, Director General of Fire Service and Civil Defense Department Ali Ahmed Khan and others.
