Election Commission (EC) Secretariat Secretary Helaluddin Ahmad said that the schedule of National Assembly elections will be announced in the first week of November.
He informed the reporters after the meeting with the EC and a delegation of 7 members of the European Union (EU) at the Agargaon Election Hall on Thursday.
Regarding the meeting, the EC Secretary said that the European Union wants to see free and participatory elections in Bangladesh.
Earlier, the Election Commissioners held a meeting with a delegation of 7 members of the EU at the office of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda at around 11:30 on Thursday.
Election Commissioner Mahbub Talukder, Md. Rafiqul Islam, Kavita Khanam, Brigadier General (retd) Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury, EC Secretary Helaluddin Ahmad were present.
Ambassadors and representatives of Britain, Germany, Spain, Sweden, France, Denmark, and the Netherlands were in the delegation led by the ambassador of the European Union, Renji Terinck.
