Two people were killed in a collision between a truck and a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw in Nandigram, Bogra. Three others were injured. The accident took place at Omarpur bus stand of Nandigram upazila on Bogra-Natore highway today, Monday (13 June). The deceased are Abdul Khalek (55), son of late Jachi Pramanik of Kusta village of Nandigram upazila, night watchman of Ranbagha High School and Bablu Mia (50), son of deceased Azim Uddin of Kaste village of Singra upazila of Natore district. The identity of the injured could not be confirmed. All the casualties were passengers of a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw. According to locals, the CNG-powered auto-rickshaw carrying passengers collided head-on with a Natore-bound truck near Omarpur Bazar on its way from Ranbagha to Nandigram. Two people were killed on the spot and three others were injured. After the accident, the driver and the helper fled leaving the truck behind. After receiving the information, the highway police rescued the injured and admitted them to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital. Shahidul Islam, OC of Kunderhat Highway Police Station, said that the truck and autorickshaw involved in the accident have been seized. The bodies of the two deceased are in police custody.
