'Hawa' is also a surprise at the Kolkata International Film Festival

Jaya Bachchan and Prasenjit Chatterjee inaugurated a special exhibition on Amitabh Bachchan on the first day of the 28th Kolkata International Film Festival on Friday. Besides, Bangladeshi film 'Hawa' was screened in Kolkata's Nandan on this day. Chanchal Chowdhury starrer movie 'Hawa' can be seen in huge crowd at Nandan Chattar.

After the screening of the movie 'Hawa', the director and crew of the movie faced the media. Director Srijit Mukherjee was specially invited on this occasion. Srijit said, 'Two Bengals should make a film together. A lot more 'air' should be created'.

Mezbaur Rahman Sumon, the director of 'Hawa', said, "Language is not the barbed wire, the state is the barbed wire."

At the end of the show, the excitement of the audience was palpable. Veteran tolly artists like Kolkata's Prosenjit from movie lovers have also admitted that Bangladeshi films could not create such a storm in Kolkata. Pritam Das, a student of Kolkata Satyajit Ray Film Institute, said that cinema has no borders. There is no caste, religion, color, through movies we can learn about the language and national culture of one country and another country. So, the more such movies are released, the more we will know about Bangladeshi movies.

Earlier, her fellow actress Shahnaz Khushi caused a stir by posting Chanchal's selfie with Bollywood king Shah Rukh Khan on Facebook. Not only Shah Rukh but Bollywood star Arijit Singh, former cricketer Sourav Ganguly are also seen in those pictures.

Chanchal's picture, which went viral on Facebook, has been shared by actress Subarna Mustafa, Tamalika Karmkar, Shatabdi Wadud and many people from the cultural arena of the country.

The Kolkata Film Festival, which started on Thursday, has now entered its 28th year. West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Bollywood stars Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, director Mahesh Bhatt, Shatrughan Sinha, Rani Mukhopadhyay, Arijit Singh, Sourav Ganguly and many others were present on the opening day of the festival at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata. Bangladeshi actor Chanchal Chowdhury was the invited guest on that stage.

Chanchal said, 'Of course I am Amitabh Bachchan's fan, Shahrukh Khan's fan. Such a big actor, such a big star. And what to say about Amitabh Bachchan's performance! We actually follow him. Even at this age, his acting is really great. And it is worth meeting them together.'

Four films from Bangladesh have been featured in the festival this year. Apart from India and Bangladesh, films from many countries including Russia, Syria, Germany, Spain, France, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Philippines, Switzerland will be shown in this film festival.
