An attempt was made to kill Maqchud Rahman (25) for love with a widow in Kamalnagar of Lakshmipur and to hide the body. Sharif (20) involved in this incident has given sensational information about the murder in the court.
Kamalnagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kabir Ahmad and Case Investigation Officer (OC-Investigation) Saidur Rahman Bhuiyan confirmed the matter on Wednesday (June 15) night.
Earlier on Wednesday (June 15) afternoon. Sharif (20) confessed his involvement in the murder and gave a statement under section 164 in the court.
Sharif is the son of Bablu Mia of Ward No. 2 of Char Lawrence Union of Kamalnagar Upazila. On Tuesday (June 14) night, the police raided and arrested him.
Saidur Rahman Bhuiyan, investigation officer of the case (OC investigation) said that a young man named Sharif was arrested and sent to court. In the statement under section 164 in the court, he admitted his involvement in the murder. According to his confession, young Makchud was having an affair with a widow of Char Jangalia village near Lawrence Bazar. The widow's son became enraged with his 4 accomplices and strangled her to death on the night of Saturday 28 May and then hid her body in a safety tank.
Kamalnagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kabir Ahmed said that sensational information has come out after the arrest of Sharif involved in the murder. The police operation is continuing to arrest the other 4 youths involved, including the widow's son.
Makshud, son of Enayet Ulya, a resident of Char Lawrence Union, went missing on the night of May 28. His body was recovered from the safety tank of Sana Ullah house near Lawrence Bazar of the upazila on Monday (June 06) after 9 days of disappearance. On Tuesday (June 07), the brother of the deceased filed a murder case with the Kamalnagar police station accusing some unknown persons.
